At Cwmgelli we welcome growers of all ages and abilities from any walk of life. We are a small allotment site ‐ one of precious few in the Abertawe/Swansea area. Growing space is in high demand and plot turnover is slow.
We have a mixture of micro-plots, half plots and full plots. As a rule, new members are initially allocated a micro-plot (a very large bed) and some growing space in our polytunnel. When plots become available you will get the opportunity to move to a larger growing space.
All members have access to a large range of communal tools and are also able to purchase discounted seeds due to our AGC membership.
Before you apply...
For people new to growing or allotments, please consider:
- Will I have enough time?
- Do I have the time now and for the foreseeable future. Can I fit it in around my other commitments?
- Is the site close enough to my home?
- If you live a short distance and can pop in easily, great - consider how you will get here.
- Am I fit enough?
- Some plots will be overgrown and need a bit of effort before you can get properly started and require ongoing physical effort.
- Will I stick at it?
- Am I committed and patient enough? We all have set backs and failures and sometimes the weather is not on our side.
